It’s worth buying, or if you don’t have the base game then purchase Final Fantasy VII Remake INTERgrade and it will come as a single package. Plus I mean it’s Yuffie! Everyone loves Yuffie. There’s the bonus of seeing some of the original cast if you explore, which is nice, and it shows how it all intersects. It’s got a lot to offer considering its length, and the combat is mixed up enough to make it feel fresh. I wish I had more actual game time with it because it was short and sweet, but what a fun ride it was. Over all the Final Fantasy VII Remake INTERmission DLC is fabulous and I can’t recommend it enough. What this means we have no idea, but I can’t wait to find out. Eagle eyed viewers have noticed when he visits the Aerith Church there are differences. The question will be on which timeline though? Is it the same as the one that we’ve played. However, now there seem to be Whispers in play, and with the potential timeline being different he could be back. You’ll see the main cast from the point their story ends, and they’re on foot heading away to the next destination… then of course ZACK! This is interesting because if you have played Crisis Core, Zack dies. This interlude ends as the plate is falling in Final Fantasy VII Remake, and this is when Yuffie leaves the sector, so there’s a really interesting cut scene to boot. You’ll have some good battles along the way and get to see more of Scarlett as she is the head of the weapons department, and ends up being the villain of the DLC. The goal she has set out is to steal the Ultimate Materia from Shinra as she believes it will slow them down. Of course in the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intermission DLC the story overall is Yuffie’s – she is a cheeky, happy smiling ninja kid, just don’t expect her to like being called a kid. Yuffie is the star, but he is interesting enough and we find out about his past and why he sees Yuffie like his sister despite her being called boss throughout. Speaking of Sonon, what a good addition he is! In the short runtime he is used well and you can see a bond building between the two. I hope this carries over as a feature for Remake Part 2 when it lands. There is now an option to synergize in combat, where you can link up with your companion (in this case it’s Sonon), and this allows you to team attack. The combat feels a lot quicker this time around, but that’s due to how Yuffie plays, and she really is unique in her play style. She can throw her stars and cast ninjutsu from afar, thus allowing you to mix it up depending on the enemy you’re facing. Yuffie is a Wutai ninja so she is great for close up combat and long range due to her shuriken abilities and combat style. Regarding the core gameplay, you may have expected it to play out in same way as the base Final Fantasy VII Remake, and in some parts it does, but INTERmission plays differently, with specifically Yuffie not being like the main cast, which makes the combat feel fresh and new again. It’s a lot of fun and it also leads you to speaking to more characters in the main game itself, so it’s worth doing for that alone. Each piece will cost more to place, with the better it is, the higher the cost, and you’ll need to counter the pieces that are played against you too. Firstly, there’s an activity known as Fort Condor, essentially you’re placing down game pieces that move to attack the enemy’s base as they have 1 main tower and 2 sub towers, and the aim is to destroy them. However, I would advise not rushing through as it has some extra activities to accomplish like the main game, but here they are actually more interesting at times. If you choose to stick to the main chapters (of which there are two), you’ll have it done in one sitting as its runtime is under 4 hours. Before you read on there are spoilers for the ending of the base game, so bear that in mind! I will start though by simply stating that this is short. It’s the INTERmission pack, but really it’s all about Yuffie. I’ve finally managed to get around to playing the DLC for what is one of my favourite games… Final Fantasy VII Remake.
